In the preliminary bout to the main event on the Bailey-Corley fight card at B.B. King Blues and Supperclub in Manhattan, featherweight Gary Stark Jr. of Staten Island, New York, now 22-2 with 8 kayos, scored a six round unanimous decision over Leivi Brea, Constanza, Dominican Republic, now 16-8-3 with 8 kayos. Stark got a good workout, pressing the action immediately with right-left body shots, and had a better sense of reach, landing more often. Brea gave a good accounting of himself and showed alot of heart, and threw alot of punches, most of which missed. Brea was down from a low blow in the second, and knocked down for a flash knockdown in the third. He backed up in retreat and grabbed alot from that point on, though he kept moving and was an elusive target.
