Bout Summary

In the opening minute of Round 4, Gonzalez was staggered by a straight right hand and nearly dropped by a big right uppercut from Garcia; who held the back of Gonzalez's head with his left glove. Gonzalez, however, was able to clinch and evade his opponent's barrage but was clearly hurt. Garcia continued to land upstairs in Round 5, as Gonzalez's legs remained unstable and his punches greatly weakened. Prior to the beginning of Round 6 and after consulting with the ringside physician, Referee Wayne Hedgpeth called an end to the bout.
