- Referee: Ray Mitchell 95-97
- Judge: Trevor Christian
- Judge: George Barnes
"Former world bantamweight champion Lionel Rose had his third comeback fight and lost it by a split decision to Billy Moeller at the Merrickville RSL Club. It was a good bout with little in it all the way. Moeller was sharper, Rose flashier, but Lionel was not as sharp as when he was world champion. He was a great all-round boxer in those days. Now he's good but not great." -Ring Magazine, January 1976 issue
- This bout was originally scheduled for 15 rounds for Moeller's Australian and Commonwealth jr. lightweight titles. However, several days before the bout Rose notified promoter Roy Carroll that he could not make 130 and the bout went ahead as a 10 rounder.
- Referee Ray Mitchell scored the bout 97-95 for Moeller, judge George Barnes scored it for Moeller by 4 points (no point total given) and judge Trevor Christian scored it for Rose by 1 point (no point total given).
- Only Ray Mitchell scored the bout correctly on the 10 point must system. Judges Barnes and Christian scored the bout incorrectly on 10 - 9 1/2 point margins.
