Frank Borrington beat George Brennan by TKO in round 9 of 12
- Date: 1935-12-09
- Location: King's Hall, Derby, Derbyshire, United Kingdom
- Referee: Austin O'Connor
Frank Borrington's weight advantage proved too much of a handicap for George Brennan, the former A.B.A. champion, at Derby on Monday, and Borrington won on the intervention of the referee in the ninth, after Brennan had shown amazing gameness. Brennan did well with the left at the start, but Borrington connected with a loose right swing in the third and Brennan was forced to take a count. Brennan recovered well and more than held his own towards the end of the round. After this he seemed to do all the work up to the ninth, but in this round Borrington broke down his defence and landed with heavy swings. Brennan collapsed in a heap, but some how managed to regain his feet. Borrington dropped him again and the referee then intervened.
