  • Philippine champion Denver Cuello served notice of his desire to get into the big stage, knocking out in four rounds Japanese rival Hiroshi Matsumoto, a southpaw veteran who had never been stopped in his previous fights. The 22-year-old fighter from Binangonan, Rizal, overcame strange tactics from his rival, unleashing a crisp right uppercut that sent Matsumoto down for the first time in the third round. Cuello finished it off in the fourth when his right found its mark at the 43-second mark and Matsumoto failed to beat the count.
