• In the ninth, Fonseca started repeatedly catching Seeger with straight left hands. Midway through the round, the referee decided that he'd seen enough and called a halt to the bout.
• At the time of stoppage, one juge had an even fight (76-76), while the two others had Seeger winning the fight (77-75 and 79-73).
• Seeger was hospitalized with bleeding on the brain after this fight.
• Fonseca would never defend the NABF title and be stripped of same on February 27, 2010.
• The same would be true of his NABO title, which would be stripped from him in May 2010.
