Results from The Boston Daily Globe 3/29/1888. Weir surprised everyone by sparring a few rounds with Jim Phelan before the "go" with Havlin. A crowd of 3,000 spectators, mostly pro-Havlin, watched as Jack and the Spider fought a "real" battle, tearing in to each other in a repeat of their previous encounter the year before. By the end of the six rounds Havlin was strong and willing but had been badly punished by Weir.
