Bout Summary
Thirty seconds into the fight, Holyfield backed Brown to the ropes and unleashed a barrage of punches. As Brown moved off the ropes, Holyfield sent him to the canvas with a left hook and right cross. Brown was able to make it to his feet by the count of five.
Holyfield moved in and backed Brown to the ropes. After taking another left hook, Brown's upper body went through the top two ropes. Holyfield backed off and the referee stepped between the fighters. When the action resumed, Holyfield drove Brown across the ring and into his own corner. Brown was able to escape but was soon afterwards knocked into a neutral corner by a right cross. Another right snapped Brown's head back and he tried to clinch. A right uppercut buckled Brown's legs and he fell into the ropes while still holding Holyfield. The referee broke the fighters and gave Brown a standing eight-count.
A barrage of punches drove Brown back to the neutral corner and two rights snapped his head back. Brown bent over to avoid punishment and the referee stopped the fight as Brown's corner threw in a towel. After two consecutive six-round decision wins, Holyfield had his first knockout victory as a professional.
