Dolan tried to use his advantages in height and reach, and a left jab, to keep the short armed Olivera from getting inside where he was known to be more effective. Olivera was still able to force lots of infighting, though Dolan held his own inside. Dolan suffered a cut under his right eye in the 5th round, and was hurt with a left hook to the body in the 7th round. The decision was very close.
