Bout Summary

Julio came out orthodox but switched to a southpaw stance 24 seconds into the fight. He stumbled back against the ropes after Broner stepped on his foot and hit him with a jab to the body. Broner moved in and unleashed a flurry of punches but didn't land any clean shots. Moving back to the center of the ring, Broner started to pick Julio apart. A left hook and a right cross put Julio on his backside at 1:04 of the first round. Broner shimmied as he went to a neutral corner. Julio made it to his feet at the count of eight. A barrage put him down for a second time, and the referee stopped the fight without a count. Broner celebrated with a backward somersault.
