- Baronet was knocked down in the 10th. He was able to get to his feet but collapsed a few moment later and fell into a coma. He passed away three days later in the hospital after being removed from life-support systems.
- Fight reports indicated that something seemed to be wrong with Baronet throughout the fight and that he appeared to be 'going through the motions' and was knocked down in the 10th from what were just glancing blows.
- Baronet's promoter, Mike Segal, later said that Baronet had been involved in an automobile accident on his way to the weigh-in and had hit his head on the windshield. Segal said that Baronet did not inform his team of the accident until just before the fight.
