“Referee Tommy Sullivan halted the one-sided affair just after the seventh round started when Belloise was incapable of offering any more resistance to his 26-year-old ringwise opponent. Throughout the fight, the crowd voiced its disapproval and shouted for the American-Italian to “fight.” But Steve appeared to “black out” after Dauthuille tagged him with a walloping right hand midway through the first round.”
