The two fought inside, with Armstrong getting the better of it throughout, with his superior activity. It was reported that referee Billy Burke did not need to break one clinch until the 8th round. Rangel wilted in the 10th round, appearing to be on the verge of going down as he lost his mouthpiece. Armstrong was very effective with a right uppercut inside Rangel finished the fight with his right eye swollen shut, and cut. His left eye was also damaged. Rangel's lips were also torn, and his nose was swollen. Armstrong finished with a swollen left eye.
