Canzoneri was a heavy favourite and the judgement of the so-called wise money looked very right in the opening canto when Tony rocked the English boxer with a series of rights and lefts to the jaw. After that Berg fought a steady, persistent fight, carrying the battle to the Italian and beating him decisively. His attack was so relentless and so sure that only in the 7th round did Canzoneri show anything." -International News Service
