- Estrada was cut over the left eye in round 5. The referee initially ruled that it was caused by a headbutt and penalized Arakawa one point. However, replay review showed that the cut was caused by a legal punch and the point deduction was withdrawn.
- Fight was in round 10 as a result of swelling around the right eye of Estrada, which had been caused by an accidental elbow.
