- Originally scheduled for August 13. However, due to heavy rain it was moved to September 5.[1]
- Pastor was counted out after taking a left hook to the body. He was also knocked down for a 7-count at the bell in the 9th and for a 9-count in round 12.
- Rounds 8 and 12 were taken from Conn and given to Pastor due to low blows landed. Referee Billy Cavanaugh also admitted that had Pastor risen in the 13th, he would have given that round to Pastor as well for the same offense.
- The unofficial AP scorecard had given Conn 8 of the 12 completed rounds.
- Post-fight comment: "The low punches took the life out of Bob. Why even the referee admits the last punch of the fight was foul." - Jimmy Johnston, Pastor's manager
