Dempsey-Norton Bout A Draw
Jack Dempsey, Salt Lake heavyweight, had a shade over Al Norton tonight in the main event of the West Oakland club fights, but the best he got was a draw verdict. Dempsey looked to be a good boy and went through the four rounds unscathed. Norton was badly cut about the face although neither boxer was seriously damaged. The match was a particularly fast one for a heavyweight encounter, and the crowd cheered. The Salt Laker made himself a favorite from the start. At all events, Dempsey is sure of another match with some good boy.
