Bout Summary
In the main event of an HBO televised card from Bell Centre, Stevenson pitched a shutout for seven rounds with his right jab to the head and body of EX-IBF champion Cloud, taunting him with his hands down for much of the bout. Cloud fell to the canvas twice, once from a missed punch, another time when Stevenson pushed him down. Stevenson appeared bigger and more muscular than Cloud, who moved forward cautiously trying to cut off the ring, but only got hit for his effort. Cloud had a gash on his right eyebrow area, and Cloud had no change in game plan tactics to deal with Stevenson's beating. After the end of round seven, Cloud gave up in his corner.
The winner of the Jean Pascal versus Lucian Bute bout, as well as WBO world champion Sergey Kovalev, were mentioned by Stevenson in the postfight interview after the bout as possible future WBC opponents for Stevenson in 2014.
