The Grand Rapids Herald reported Walker's comments after the fight. Hugh said that he had trained for the fight harder than for any previous fight, but that Greb's speed afoot was just too much for him. Hugh was aggressive and did land some solid blows, but Greb landed far more punches. The Grand Rapids Press reported "On several occasions Harry twisted Hugh up so badly that Greb would stand quietly at Walker's back waiting for the big fellow to turn around."
