"Spider Webb of Chicago kept his 3rd rank among the nation's middleweights safe tonight by outboxing and outpunching Wilf Greaves from Pittsburgh to gain an unanimous 10 round decision at the Chicago Stadium. Webb had too much polish for the plodding Greaves who never stopped trying but whose only stock in trade proved a long looping right hand. Webb's superiority began to show in the 3rd round when he pounded the onrushing Greaves with a barrage of combinations, cutting the Pittsburgher's nose and opening a tiny cut over his left eye. Throughout the fight Webb had little trouble in peppering his slugging opponent with jabs and short hooks." -United Press
