- In the weird third round (two minute rounds), Maderna was holding Serrano behind the head and hitting, but no foul was called. Serrano landed a low blow followed by a head shot while Maderna was doubled over. Maderna was given a five minute recovery period. Afterwards, Maderna was holding behind the head and hitting again.
- Serrano walked down Maderna immediately with short body head power shot combinations and broke her down. Maderna was swinging wide. By the fifth round, Maderna was trying to hold, but Serrano would not allow it. In the sixth, Serrano cut off the ring and was landing power shots at will. The champion, Maderna, took the count on the canvas from Anibal Andrade, shaking her head 'no more' in resignation to the referee. Not a close bout.
