- For 11 rounds Darren Askew gave Anthony Taylor a thorough boxing lesson. Taylor was knocked down to the canvas in rounds 7 and 11, but got up and came back again. Askew was boxing beautifully and decisively.
- In round 12, instead of Askew taking it easy and win on Unanimous Points, he had a "blood rush" to win by knock out, and got caught himself against the ropes. he got battered by many hard shots. The referee watched carefully, and when his eyes rolled back and dropped his hands, the referee stopped the bout at 2 minutes 23 seconds
- Taylor sustained ribs injury during the fight.
