• Referee Danny Schiavone did an expert job of maintaining control of the ring. In round four, he took a point from Cruz for rabbit punching. In round five, he took a point from Cruz for pushing, and hitting off the break. In round seven, he took a point from Chudecki from hitting Cruz on the floor after a slip. Not an easy bout for the ref, and he handled it in top form.

• Chudecki gave Cruz a consistent beating, applying pressure and keeping to his approach of staying busy all night. BY winning every round, Chudecki took the hometown Louis Cruz crowd to the cleaners.
• Cruz was penalized twice for fouling, including rabbit punching. CHudecki was penalized for hitting Cruz on the floor after a slip.
• In the final round, Chudecki came close to stopping Cruz, who was saved by the bell as the bout ended.
• Chudecki came into the bout with a solid game plan A: superior head and foot movement, right hand faints followed with left right combinations to head and body.
