"Archie Moore, San Diego, dethroned Jack Chase, California middleweight champion, here tonight by winning a 15 round decision over the Walsenburg, Colo., fighter. The two negroes were on even terms until Chase started to tire in the 13th round. Moore finished the last two rounds at a fast pace and had Chase's right eye closed.
