"Promoter Nicolas Rodriguez put together an outstanding show featuring Mexico's uncrowned junior welterweight champion, Jose 'Mantequilla' Napoles, 145, against L.C. Morgan, 146 3/4. The fight started out with a bang, as both battlers threw caution to the wind. The 2nd round started out the same way. Midway in the round Napoles caught Morgan with a left hook on the chin and down went Morgan flat on his back, taking the mandatory eight. As fighting resumed, Napoles was staggered by a right but came right back and dropped Morgan again with a left for another eight count. Morgan then dropped to one knee once fighting resumed again and the fight was stopped at 2:40 of the 2nd round." -Ring Magazine, October 1967 issue
