"Jose Napoles, who took the welterweight championship from Curtis Cokes only last April 18th in Los Angeles, closed Cokes' right eye in the rematch. Then he battered the half-blind Texan bloody-faced and rubber-legged before Cokes gave up. Clearly unable to defend himself any longer, Cokes just shook his head in anguish when the bell rang for the 11th round, and remained in his corner." -United Press International
