"Salvatore Burruni, the 35 year old former flyweight champion and veteran of 103 previous bouts, was caught by a Mexican Boxing Association rule that says any fighter who turns his back to the action is a loser. Ruben Olivares, a promising young Mexican now sporting a 33-0-1 record got the benefit of Burruni's error when the Italian took a sizzling blow to the stomach in the 3rd round. 'The force of the blow turned him around, he had not abandoned the fight,' said Umberto Branchini, manager of Burruni. 'He was actually waiting for the protection count when the referee lifted the other guy's arm.' He admitted, however, that Burruni had been warned before the fight about the rule." -Associated Press
