"Pascual Perez, 107, Argentina, retained his world flyweight championship last night by knocking out challenger Dai Dower, 111 1/4, of Wales in the 1st round of their scheduled 15-round title fight. The end came with startling suddenness with just two minutes of the round gone. Perez connected with a right cross to the chin and Dower couldn't get up. The outdoor crowd of about 80,000 had hardly settled in its seats when Perez went to work. Dower was still struggling to get to his feet when the referee counted him out." -Associated Press
