"Dick Tiger, Nigeria, the British Empire middleweight champion, set his sights on a bout with Joey Giardello today after shattering previously unbeaten Gene (Ace) Armstrong's 17 bout winning streak in a stunning upset. The 30 year old Tiger, who floored the 5th ranked Armstrong of Elizabeth, N.J., in the 3rd round, went on to gain an easy decision in the nationally televised 10 rounder. Tiger gained his triumph on the card of referee Joey Harrison, sole official under New Jersey boxing rules.
