"Danny 'Little Red' Lopez bombed David Kotey of Ghana into submission with punches to the head and stopped him in the 6th round Wednesday night to retain the WBC featherweight championship. Lopez caught the challenger with an overhand right that sent him staggering backwards across the ring in the 6th round. Before Kotey could fall, Lopez hit him with a left-right to the head that made sure he would go down. Kotey got up but was obviously hurt and Lopez backed him into a corner, then slammed home 10-12 head shots. Just as Little Red was winding up with a right, referee Ray Solis jumped in and stopped the fight. The time was 1:18." -Associated Press
