Martin was hurt in the 4th round by a right hand to the body. From that point on, Robinson hit Martin with left jabs and right crosses without return. In the last minute of the 7th round, two left hooks dropped Martin for a nine-count and opened a deep cut over his left eye. The referee halted the bout at the end of the round.
