"Jose Medel today is eyeing Fighting Harada's world crown after Tuesday night's 6th round TKO over Walter McGowan. Medel, the Mexican champion of his division, stopped the British and Empire flyweight king at 2:52 of round 6 when referee Ike Powell halted the bout because McGowan was in a dazed condition following a knockdown. McGowan, who also was knocked down for a six count in the opening round, took several punches to the head and was unable to continue. Medel, however, had a badly cut left eye after the Scotsman connected in the 2nd round. Both fighters weighed 116 3/4." -United Press International
