"Evan Armstrong suffered the fifth loss of his career when Mexico's ageing Jose Medel got the unanimous 10 round bantamweight decision. The crowd at the open air El Toreo bull ring sat through intermittent rain which bothered neither Armstrong nor Medel. Both were bleeding heavily by the closing bell as the soaked crowd gave them a standing ovation. One judge and the referee scored it 97-94 for the 30 year old Medel. The third judge had the Mexican ahead 97-92 while the AP scored it for Armstrong by 97-94." -Associated Press
