"Harbor bomber Raul Rojas had to make his ring comeback as a track star in order to decision Al Colter of Phoenix before 2,800 at the Olympic Auditorium Thursday night. Rojas was on his lanky opponent like a rush from the opening bell. Colter, however, managed to keep the ring between the two as Rojas chased him for 10 rounds. Colter scored accurately with jabs and slapping left hooks to the head throughout the first seven rounds until Raul managed to get to his body with ruining kidney punches and hooks to the midsection. From the 7th round on the fight was a running match as Colter's big job was to keep Rojas off him." -Long Beach Press-Telegram
- The article's reference of Rojas' comeback was due to him making his first appearance since losing in a challenge to Vicente Saldivar for the latter's world featherweight championship.
