"Hiroyuki Ebihara, the WBA flyweight champion, knocked out Mexican flyweight Jose Garcia Lopez in the 2nd round of a scheduled non-title 10 round bout Monday night at the Okayama Prefectural Gymnasium. Both fighters were cautious in the 1st round, feeling each other out with jabs. Ebihara opened up in the 2nd round by rushing Lopez against the ropes with a two-fisted attack. He caught Lopez with a hard left hook to the jaw. Lopez went down on his back and was counted out at 2:23 of the round." -United Press International
