Chuck Hellman 122 lbs beat Bud Ridley 122 lbs by TKO in round 9 of 10

Ridley was floored by a short right hand in the 1st. Ridley rallied briefly and dropped Hellman for a flash knockdown in the 7th round. Hellman dropped Ridley again in the 9th, and as he rose to his feet, Hellman froze him in his tracks with a shot to the solarplexus that prompted referee Ralph Gruman to stop the contest. This was Ridley's final career bout.
