"Unbeaten middleweight Curtis Parker retained his USBA middleweight championship by winning a unanimous 12-round decision over Mike Colbert at Resorts International Hotel and Casino Sunday afternoon. Parker, 159, of Philadelphia, dominated the bout from the opening bell, taking command with rights and lefts to the head and body. Colbert, also 159, of Portland, Ore., began to backpedal and counterpunch in the 3rd round, but Parker came back in the 5th and 6th rounds with a flurry of solid shots to the head and body. In the later rounds, Parker went to the body and easily held off a late surge by Colbert, who suffered a cut over the left cheekbone." -United Press International
