"Alex Ramos used left hooks to the head and body to pound out a unanimous 12 round decision over Curtis Parker and win the vacant USBA middleweight title Wednesday night. Ramos had Parker in trouble in the 9th and 12th rounds but could not floor the rugged Philadelphia fighter. Parker threw more punches early in the fight, but Ramos landed more effective blows. Ramos jabbed and followed with left hooks to the face, opening a cut over Parker's left eye in the 5th round." -United Press International
- Parker accepted this fight on 48 hours notice due to defending champ Wilford Scypion pulling out, being unable to make the weight and relinquishing his crown.
