"Luis Rodriguez' performance was far below that expected of a boxer of his stature and record. He was easily outpointed by Bunny Sterling at the Royal Albert Hall. One thing's for sure. Luis was trying desperately to give a good performance, but it just wasn't there any longer. Reflexes were slow, there was no authority in his punching, and the normal skill expected as a matter of course were missing. There was far too much clinching, and Sterling was lured into close-quarter mauls that didn't help matters. In the final session, Rodriguez caught Sterling with a right hand thrown in sheer desperation and made him back momentarily. But it was too little, too late." -Ring Magazine, September 1971 issue
