Joe Matisi beat Dave Mason by TKO at 1:46 in round 3 of 8

Mason was floored four times in the 3rd round before Carr stopped the fight. Mason returned to his corner, but then lost consciousness and was carried from the ring. He died the following day in the hospital as a result of a cerebral hemorrhage.
