"Eugene "Cyclone" Hart's prediction of an early knockout in his bout with middleweight Bennie Briscoe came true Tuesday night. But it was Hart who went down to the mat after 1:43 of the 1st round. Hart came out strong with lefts and rights to the body for the first minute, but Briscoe caught him with a left hook and right cross that sent him down for a count of ten. A near capacity crowd of 12,000 at the Spectrum watched the scheduled 10 round fight." - United Press International.
