"Philadelphia middleweights Bennie Briscoe and Eugene 'Cyclone' Hart battled to a 10-round draw Tuesday night. Briscoe, 160, and Hart, 164 1/4, traded powerful blows and advantages throughout the fight. Briscoe, 32, was the aggressor in the 2nd, pushing Hart, 23, to the canvas. Then Hart landed a strong left uppercut and slowed Briscoe with combinations to the head. Briscoe dazed Hart in the 4th with a straight right to the head. Hart reeled across the ring but remained on his feet until the bell. In the 6th, Hart slowed Briscoe a second time with left hooks to the head, but Briscoe rallied late in the round with body punches. Briscoe staggered Hart again in the 8th and tried to finish him with a flurry in Hart's corner. Hart's handlers had to retrieve him at the bell when he wandered away from his corner. Hart's performance in the final round earned him enough points for a draw as he rushed out with vicious left hooks and maintained pressure on Briscoe throughout the round." -Associated Press
