"Bennie Briscoe, 164, rallied in the late rounds and stopped veteran George Benton, 163, on a 10th round TKO in a middleweight bout at the Philadelphia Arena Monday night. Briscoe, making his first start as a middleweight, started out slow against the veteran Benton, but came on strong at the end to wear down his opponent. Briscoe was declared winner over Benton after referee Joe Sweeney halted the bout at the end of the 9th round on a doctor's orders." -Associated Press
