- "Carter had taken the first two rounds by a shade and the third by a wide margin before Snell started his buzz-saw tactics. Using a two-hand attack, he slammed Carter all over the ring, with the Everett boy backing up and occasionally exploding solid ones on Doc's chin." Everett Daily Herald
- The Seattle Times, reported that Snell was trailing after three rounds. Snell then started a rally by winning the 4th, and then decisively beat Carter in 5th and first half of the 6th round.
