"Florentino Fernandez' frequent left hooks and continued aggressiveness combined to beat Ralph Dupas' hit-and-run tactics Wednesday night and gave the hard-hitting Cuban a majority decision in a 10 round bout. Fernandez rarely had a chance to use his vaunted left hook in close. Dupas was continually on the move but when Fernandez caught up with him, he rocked his body and face with hard shots. Fernandez scored the only knockdown, catching Dupas with a right to the face that sent him down for a count of nine late in the 7th round." -Associated Press
