Juarez de Lima 156 lbs lost to Eddie Pace 161 lbs by UD in round 10 of 10

"No. 1 ranked junior middleweight Eddie Pace, 161, slugged his way to a narrow decision over crafty Juarez De Lima, 156, middleweight champion of Brazil, Monday night in a 10-round feature bout at Municipal Auditorium. Pace, of Los Angeles, used fierce body punching to take the edge in the hotly contested match. De Lima, proving equally fast with both hands, was able to dance in for jabs at Pace's body, and move back before the Californian could land a blow. But Pace too sneaked under De Lima's guard and pounded away with harsh blows to the body. There were no knockdowns." -United Press International

  • Although the article refers to De Lima as the middleweight champion of Brazil, it appears to be more for publicity. De Lima hadn't fought in Brazil in over four years and at that time he was a welterweight.
