"Cleveland Williams, the 3rd ranking heavyweight, knocked out Roger Rischer of Oakland, Calif., in 1:46 of the 3rd round Tuesday night. Rischer, the 9th ranking heavy, fought his larger foe on even terms in the 1st round of the scheduled 10 rounder. But in the 2nd Williams, the Houston native, clobbered Rischer with a succession of left hooks to the head. Rischer went down for a nine count. The decisive blow came halfway through the 3rd round.
