Ranquello down twice early in the fight.

"Mike Rossman's master-plan for regaining the world light heavyweight championship came to a crashing halt Tuesday night, thanks to an unknown trial horse named Ramon Ranquello. All Rossman needed was an impressive victory in his return to boxing in the first boxing program ever at Giants Stadium. But what the Turnersville, N.J., fighter got was the shock of his life as Ranquello came back from two knockdowns to drop Rossman twice in the 6th round and score a TKO. Ranquello went down twice in the 3rd round and it looked like Rossman was on his way. But Ranquello began to rally in the 4th and took control in the 5th when he bombed Rossman with long right hands. In the 6th, Ranquello put Rossman down with a short right. Rossman staggered to his feet and went down again from another solid right. He struggled to his feet but Ranquello pummeled him with lefts and rights and referee Paul Venti stopped the fight with 10 seconds left in the round." -United Press International
