"Alvaro "Yaqui" Lopez set himself up for another shot at the world light heavyweight title Thursday night when he overcame cuts over both eyes to stop Mike Rossman in the 6th round of a scheduled 10 rounder. Lopez battered Rossman dizzy with both hands in the 6th. Rossman was given a reprieve when referee Petey Della administered an illegal standing eight count over Rossman before Lopez came right back to maul the "Jewish Bomber". Rossman staggered to his stool and his father asked the doctor to stop the bout before the 7th round began." -United Press International
