Egon Thomsen beat Michel Diouf by DQ in round 1 of 8

The 78 fight veteran Michel Diouf of Senegal, boxing out of France, was disqualified after a minute in the opening round against Danish middleweight Egon Thomsen, 27 fights.
Diouf hit Thomsen with a low blow which left the Dane writhing in pain on the canvas. Referee Bengt Almqvist had immediately jumped in to warn Diouf. When Thomsen failed to rise, Almqvist disqualified Diouf.
The French cornermen accepted the decision, but not very gentle as they added to the reporters that Thomsen was a good actor. ( Berlingske Tidende 4th of February 1966 ).
